Bihar CM Nitish Kumar became new President of the Janata Dal (United), succeeding Rajiv Ranjan Singh, popularly known as Lalan Singh. The transition occured seamlessly after Lalan Singh formally resigned from his position on Friday during the Janata Dal (United)'s two-day national executive meeting in Delhi.
